Two Unique Summer Program Offerings For High School Students & Beyond

Nov 15, 2013 – The College Internship Program (CIP) has announced the 2014 dates and locations of their two week summer programs for high school sophomores to recent high school graduates with a diagnosis of Asperger’s syndrome, attention deficit disorder and other learning differences.

Participants come from all over the world to take part in these two week experiences offering recreational outings, life skills instruction, and CIP’s specialized curriculum in a fun and supportive environment.

Continuing for 2014, CIP’s High School Summer Program is located on six highly-rated college and university campuses across the US and is open to high school students entering 10th, 11th and 12th grades. Participants get a taste of college life while residing on campus, living with roommates, fostering friendships and testing out newly acquired skills through fun and educational guided activities by social mentors.

New for 2014, CIP is expanding it’s Beyond Summer Program for high school graduates to all six CIP locations after a successful pilot program in Melbourne, Florida last year. The program will take place at CIP’s full-year center locations in Florida, Massachusetts, New York, Indiana and California.

Both summer programs provide opportunities to practice new skills in an environment where they can feel successful and develop self-confidence.

Participants will take part in a variety of fun classes and activities within a welcoming community of peers, building skills that they can carry with them into future college or workplace endeavors.

The summer programs are a natural extension of CIP’s comprehensive year-round programs for college age students with learning differences.
