CIP invites you to join us for a training with international presenter, consultant, and CIP Advisory Board member, Dr. Stephen Shore. Through an autobiographical framework, Dr. Shore’s presentation will address issues facing students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other Learning Differences, including self-advocacy, sensory issues, and success in higher education. A book signing will follow the event.

About Dr. Shore:

Shore StephenDiagnosed with “Atypical Development with strong autistic tendencies” Dr. Shore was viewed as “too sick” to be treated on an outpatient basis and recommended for institutionalization. Nonverbal until four, and with much help from his parents, teachers, and others, Dr. Shore completed his doctoral dissertation at Boston University focused on matching best practice to the needs of people on the autism spectrum. Currently, Dr. Shore teaches courses in special education and autism at Adelphi University.
