Middle Way House Guest Speaker at CIP Bloomington

CIP Bloomington

In Social Thinking Lab, students were discussing how they could connect and contribute to the community in a meaningful way. Last week students invited a guest speaker from the Middle Way House, a local organization which provides crisis intervention, shelter, legal advocacy, support groups, and case management to individuals experiencing domestic violence, to come and provide information about the services they provide in Bloomington.

After learning about these services, students asked a lot of questions and became very interested in how they can volunteer to help. Some of the volunteer opportunities available are working with the food bank, helping maintain the rooftop gardens, and stocking the booth at the flea market. Our Career Coordinator, who is co-teaching the class, is actively working with the students to make these volunteer opportunities a reality.
