About Jerry Berg: Jerry Berg, a great friend of Chapel Haven and our community members, grew up playing tennis in Queens, NY and avidly throughout his 40-year medical career as a practicing radiologist in his own practice at Waterbury Hospital. Married to his wife, Barbara, for 52 years, and father of Melissa, Adam and Jason, Jerry also taught medical students at Yale and was a highly respected member of his community. Tennis continued to be one of his great passions and when he retired from medical practice in 2014, he was invited to help coach North Haven High School’s tennis team. Soon after he became a volunteer coach in Chapel Haven’s Adaptive Tennis Program, led by coach Jerry Weil. Jerry was deeply admired by our adults, as he taught them not just tennis, but pride, sportsmanship and dedication to the sport.
