Internship Spotlight: Hoosier Hills Foodbank

The following is a special needs program update from Asperger’s & LD College Programs. You may also click here to read the original article on the program’s website.

Joey P., A CIP Bloomington first year student participates in an internship with Hoosier Hills Foodbank (HHFB). Joey was with Hoosier Hills for a semester and will now be transitioning to a written Spanish translator position with IU’s Latino Cultural Center.

The internship at HHFB allowed Joey to work on appropriate social interactions with a supervisor and fellow volunteers, building a strong work ethic, maintaining focus, improving fine motor skills, and helping the community upon other benefits. This is a video clip of Joey cleaning farm fresh eggs, preparing them for distribution.
