Explore transition options @ Chapel Haven: Attend an Open House

Families of young adults with developmental and social disabilities are cordially invited to attend an open house this fall at Chapel Haven, a great way to explore transition options.

Registration is required online. See the links below to register easily.  Chapel Haven is located at 1040 Whalley Avenue, New Haven. CT. A satellite campus, Chapel Haven West, is located at 1701 N. Park Avenue in Tucson, AZ.

Open Houses are scheduled for the following locations:
On Friday, September 12, 2014, from 10 a.m. to noon, Chapel Haven invites families to come and see independent living in action during an open house. This event will include a light breakfast, an overview of Chapel Haven, student panels and a tour of Chapel Haven’s two residential programs, REACH and Asperger Syndrome Adult Transition Program. This event takes place at 1040 Whalley Avenue, New Haven, CT. Pre-registration is required – click here to register:

Chapel Haven West in Tucson, AZ will host an open house the same morning, Friday, September 12, 2014, 10 a.m. to noon (MST). This event will include an overview, refreshments, a workshop on social communication facilitated by Chapel Haven West’s speech and language pathologist and tours with students who will share their experiences negotiating their path toward independence. On Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, Chapel Haven will hold an evening open house from 5-7 p.m. at its New Haven campus, 1040 Whalley Avenue, New Haven, CT. This event will include a light dinner, an overview about Chapel Haven, tours and a chance to see evening life skills in action. This evening event is for the New Haven, CT campus only. Rounding out the fall, Chapel Haven will hold an open house on Saturday, December 6, 2014, from 10 a.m. to noon at its New Haven and Tucson campuses. To register for the New Haven Open House, click here. To register for the Dec. 6 Open House at Chapel Haven West in Tucson, AZ, click here.

Chapel Haven was founded in 1972 and provides a lifelong program of individualized support services for adults with cognitive and social disabilities, enabling them to live independent and productive lives. “Chapel Haven is living proof that adults with disabilities truly can achieve an independent and productive life,” said Chapel Haven President Michael Storz.

Chapel Haven has grown to serve more than 250 adults (18 years of age and older) in the residence and the community with three distinct programs; REACH, Asperger’s Syndrome Adult Transition (ASAT), and Chapel Haven West (Tucson, AZ). For more information, click here.
