CIP Resources on Being Home for the Holidays

CIP HolidayAs the semester draws to a close, we imagine that our CIP parents are anticipating the prospect of having their student return home for the holiday break. We encourage anyone to use this information as a guide during the holiday break.

Keeping communication open, being willing to compromise, and finding new ways of spending time together will be helpful for a successful transition to young adulthood. Consider modifying some of your old rules in light of the increased independence to which your student has become accustomed. They may just want to rest and see friends – when you have made plans for family get-togethers. All of this calls for a sense of balance and renegotiating of expectations, as well as a good sense of humor!
