The following is a special needs program update from Asperger’s & LD College Programs. You may also click here to read the original article on the main program website.

Talent 2015 Joe BOn Friday, CIP Bloomington held a talent show, organized in Social Thinking Lab, with the help of our Social Thinking Coordinator Ellen and our Career Coordinator Veronika.

The students involved decided that each performer should designate a charity that they wanted to support. After their performances, the audience was encouraged to vote by donating money to the act of their choice.

There were musical numbers, comedy sketches, a sign language performance, and a reading of an original story.

Jacky and Anna raised the most for their cause (the Bloomington Animal Shelter), by singing a song by Escape the Fate.

10 acts were performed at the show. Charities supported were Autism Speaks, Smile Train, Wild Care, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Child’s Play, the Bloomington Animal Shelter, the Helen Keller Foundation, Boxcar Books, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
