Internships are an important part of the CIP experience. Our highly-trained staff provides guidance and support in matching students’ interest or fields of study with their abilities and placing them in appropriate internships. CIP has an initiative for 100% student internship/job placement each enrollment year.

Each CIP location offers a variety of opportunities along with job support groups, helping students with learning differences maximize their work-related experience. Internships help build solid resumes, provide valuable experience and can lead to paid positions in the workforce.

Joe B., a CIP student in the IU school of Telecommunications, works at Global Gifts, a locally owned nonprofit organization supported by a small staff and a dedicated team of volunteers. His experience has helped him develop flexibility and customer service within a culturally rich and unique business structure.

Joe has also worked at Cactus Flower, a boutique apparel store, Cardinal Stage, an IU theater company, and at the Campus Costume Store. He feels that all of his internships have helped him to get closer to his career goals by providing much needed hands-on experience.
