CIP Berkeley students gives others tips on transitioning into adulthood and college

The following is a special needs program update from Asperger’s & LD College Programs

100_2902As part of Autism Awareness Month, a group of CIP Berkeley students set out to meet with students at El Cerrito High School who are on the spectrum and with other learning differences to give them tips on transitioning into adulthood and college. Each student talked for 10 minutes, giving their insights and tips on going to college with a learning difference, and the differences students can expect from college and high school. The staff and students at ECHS really enjoyed the talks and asked a lot of questions.

After the talks were completed, one of CIP Berkeley’s students, Midhun, stated, “It felt great!” to share his experience with others. Ms. Harrison from ECHS is already asking when CIP Berkeley is able to come back to do another talk for her students!
