CIP Amherst Welcomes OT Services

MargieThe Amherst Center is pleased to announce the availability of Occupational Therapy services for our students. During the summer session, Margery Henning, a licensed OT, began conducting evaluations that focused on our students’ sensory experiences. As a result, Margery has helped the students to better understand their sensory profiles and has made recommendations to the Amherst staff on new ways to incorporate the students’ sensory sensitivities into their daily programming. Additionally, Margery coordinated a visit to the University of Buffalo’s Center for Assistive Technology where staff learned about the latest educational tools and devices available for students to facilitate academic success. Incorporating the OT perspective has been very helpful in working with the students and we look forward to continuing the services throughout the academic year. Thank you Margie!
