Chapel Haven in the News

Chapel Haven has had some amazing publicity as of late.

Chapel Haven helped organize Autism Awareness Day at the CT tennis open, with partners Clifford Beers and ASD Fitness. We had a great turnout of prospective families and also some fabulous coverage from WTNH News Channel 8 and health report Jocelyn Maminta. Enjoy these two stories:

Chapel Haven community member Sandy Goldberg made the headlines in the fall edition of Shalom New Haven for a speech he gave during a ceremony at BEKI.

“Last year, after the speeches had been delivered at the retirement luncheon for custodian Clarence Bromell, and dessert was about to be served, a BEKI member named Sandy Goldberg walked up to the microphone and said he too had something to say. People looked nervous. Goldberg, though, had several stories he wanted to tell about Bromell. One was that when he came to services wearing a tie for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, Bromell always helped him fix it. Goldberg wanted Bromell to know how much he appreciated that kindness. When he finished his stories, much of the audience was weeping, and the crowd gave Goldberg a standing ovation. after giving a moving account of how much he con. Read more here:

And Chapel Haven’s PAVE program, in partnership with Yale-New Haven Hospital, won two stories, one in The Bulletin, a publication of Yale-New Haven Hospital, and another in The Volunteer Voice, a newsletter for Yale-New Haven Hospital volunteers.
