American Institute for Economic Research names Buffalo #12 City for College Students

AIERThe “college experience” is about more than simply attending a top-notch university. The city or town where the school is located also is important. The people students meet, the places they go, and the jobs they may hold are essential supplements to formal education. AIER ranks the top college destinations each year — and Buffalo, NY made the #12 spot in its Midsize Metro Areas.

To contextualize what the American Institute for Economic Research says, the Buffalo area is a great place for CIP students to learn and to grow. The city of Buffalo has been reawakened in recent years and offers much to do. Twelve colleges are within 10 miles of CIP Amherst. Our students intern or do paid work in unique small businesses such as Dog Days of Buffalo, disability- friendly chains such as Wegmans, and in community organizations including the Town of Amherst’s Youth and Recreation Department. Whether students are quiet and tend to like to go to comic book stores and coffee houses, or are ready to enjoy the year-round fun of Canalside, our many festivals, the vibrant Elmwood Village and more, this is a great place for them to find themselves!
